Youths from YAFU organize “Celebrate Youth” initiatives to commemorate the annual International Youth Day on 12th August 2013. They actively participate in civic engagement, raising hygiene and sanitation awareness in different communities. ‘’Youth taking charge of our issues’’.
Be part of the youth movements creating the change we want to see and being that change by taking charge. Celebrate Youth 2013
The cleaning of Nakasero Market on the 10th August 2013. This activity had a great impact to the
youths in our communities, youths from YAFU, the Market Vendors and policy makers.
The partner organizations included; Time to Act Now, Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU), African Youth Development Link (AYDL), Youth Advocacy Foundation Uganda (YAFU), Uganda Moslem Youth Development Forum, Success Chapter, Open Space Centre, and Kampala City Council Authority KCCA. Several media houses also provided support to YAFU in the commemoration of the 2013 International Youth Day. These included; Daily Monitor, New Vision, Bukkedde TV, Uganda Broadcasting Corporation UBC, Radio One, Akaboozi, Capital FM among others. Students at Secondary and University level also participated in the event.
Celebrate Youth 2014
YAFU was proud to be part of the Global week of Action in partnership with World Vision, Youth adding our voices to Have All Children to survive 5. YAFU staff and volunteers actively participated in donating different items to patients, Painting and cleaning Buwama Health Centre 111.in Mpigi District. As well call to action to all line Leaders to increase Funding and make health a priority. That is partly how ‘’CELEBRATE YOUTH 2014’’ went.
